ALICE

Maths pro and soup maker extraordinaire

Alice is a highly experienced Maths teacher and tutor.  She has taught in local secondary schools and tutored individuals as well as small groups of students of all ages and abilities with consistent success. All students she has tutored have improved on their predicted grade at GCSE and A Level. Alice has also worked with students applying to both Oxford and Cambridge Universities, taking STEP or MAT exams, with success at both Universities.  Although focused on outcomes, Alice uses a range of teaching methods to ensure students develop a sound understanding and ongoing confidence in Maths.

In addition to exam focused teaching Alice has coached groups of students working towards Maths competitions, and run inspirational master classes for high achieving students from years 5,6 and 7.  As well as teaching, Alice rowed for Great Britain, winning a World Championships medal in 2007, and racing in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.

CAROLYN

Most chilled and happiest mathematician ever!

There's not much in the world of maths teaching that Carolyn hasn't experienced. Studying the craft at Oxford and then teaching in various comprehensive and private schools throughout the county her pedigree is first class.

Carolyn has taught both National and International qualifications in maths over a range of examination boards. Whether a classroom teacher with the spotlight on personalised learning and pupil welfare or  a Head of Department with a focus on attainment Carolyn has covered it all. She enjoys the freedom of small group tuition alongside her current teaching commitments at Bradfield College.

Carolyn not only has numbers at her fingertips, but loves to dabble in the garden or walk with her dogs in the Oxfordshire countryside.
